Chef Samarth Arjun Rastogi cordially invites you to
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Depending on final provisions
An evening inspired by the sea,
shared among friends.
By day, Arjun is a graduate student at the University of Michigan, pursuing advanced mathematics — probability theory, stochastic processes, and the elegant abstractions of pure reason. He finds in mathematics the same qualities he has always loved about fine cooking: precision, structure, and the occasional revelation that arrives only after long patience.
But his first love was never a textbook. It was the television — specifically, Food Network, which played on a near-continuous loop in the Rastogi household growing up. He watched Alton Brown dissect the chemistry of a braise. He watched Gordon Ramsay demand perfection. He watched Iron Chef and understood, for the first time, that cooking was a form of thinking.
The dream of being a chef never fully departed. Tonight, it surfaces — seven courses, one table, and a group of friends gathered in the spirit of that same dream. Le Château de Jefferson is Arjun's invitation to share what he has spent a lifetime quietly learning.
